How are smartphones and personal assistants are impacting how we make decisions, how information and experiences are marketed to us, and how we design our work, learning, and lives? More than 80% of American adults have smartphones, and many look at them first thing in the morning and the last thing at night. That small computer at our bedside and hip is changing the way we discover music, plan our day, choose our travel and purchases, and make many decisions in our daily lives. And now AI and Siri. Google, and Alexa are further simplifying our decisions with verbal commands and limited controls. This session will explore music as an example of what is happening in playlist-driven decisions, and will show how how these great tools both limit and empower how we design our own personal digital environments for a great mobile-first life.
